This weekend, I was flipping through the channels and landed on VH1 when they were actually playing videos. What's the odds of that?
Anyway, I got there just in time to see the opening credits or whatever and saw "R. Kelly, Trapped in a Closet (Part 1 of 5)" And I thought, "huh? I thought R. Kelly was in jail!" At first I thought it was a joke or that I had read the name of the song wrong or something. Then I thought..."Oh, maybe he's trying to raise awareness of child abuse...that's good." But as I watched the trainwreck unfold, I saw that it's actually some kind of soap operaesque mini-series of a music video. He has written a song about committing adultery with a married woman, and her husband comes home, so he has to hide in the closet so the husband won't find him. Mostly, he's just narrating this little drama in song and gets really annoying and whiney.
And he must have a sense of humor, because he's selling the 5 music videos on DVD.
