5 reasons Why it's OK to Leave Shoes in the Living Room

I became disturbed last weekend when I noticed the vast quantity of shoes strewn throughout my house. I'd say there's about 6 pair in the living room and 2-3 pair in the kitchen. If I had a family living in my house with me, it might seem more normal, but how does a single person end up with 9 pairs of shoes in the middle of the floor?

So instead of let it drive me crazy or let it drive me to pick them up and put them away, I decided to focus on the good points of having copious amounts of shoes underfoot (pun intended).

1. You never know when that evil spider will strike. You obviously can't get close enough to kill him with the shoe on your foot, so you'll need something to throw at him.

2. Need to go out in the garage for something, but don't want to get your feet dirty? No problem. Just slip on that pair of flip flops next to the TV and be on your way!

3. Doggy need to go outside? Don't keep her waiting! Browse the selection of shoes to find an appropriate casual slip-on that won't be ruined by puppy paw prints or falling into holes the dog has dug outside.

4. If there's a fire in the middle of the night, you're going to want to get out of there fast. An avid shoe lover might perish while trying to dig through her closet to rescue favorite shoes. Not me! Mine are all conveniently located near the escape route. Sure, it might take a couple of trips to get them all, but still a quicker route than if I weren't so prepared.

5. Who needs an expensive alarm system? With my shoe obstacle course, if anyone ever breaks in during the night, they're sure to trip over a shoe and knock themselves unconscious...even I've come close to doing that, and I know they're there!
