Guess that Title and Artist (TT #30 )

I have nothing better to do, so here you go. Another musical guessing game. Guess the title and or artist of each song and win...absolutely nothing! But hey, I'll think you're smart. I'll try to make it as easy as possible by using phrases from the chorus of each song. These are randomly selected from the music I have on my work PC. A couple of these are so easy-- I might hunt you down and beat you if you don't know them. Oh! And the blanks are where the actual title of the song is embedded in the song. I didn't want to make it too easy. If you're a regular and know who my favorites are, you can randomly guess and get some of them right.

1. You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be here in a minute

(and my boyfriend's already throwing up a little bit in his mouth after reading #1)

My BFF Elaine was the first to guess this one correctly. It's Irreplacable by Beyonce. But since her blog is privateish, I'll give the link love to the next person who guessed it correctly, Samantha K!

2. There's no need to point the finger
We understand who takes the blame
Delinquents caught
Red-handed in the act
Crooks disguised as you and I

We've got to find another way
To make the ______ __ _____.

3. she gives me love love love love ______ ______
she gives me love love love love ______ ______...

She's got a fine sense of humor when I'm feeling low down
And when I come home to her when the sun goes down
She takes away my troubles, takes away my grief
Takes away my heartache in the night like a thief.

Malcolm guessed this correctly! Crazy Love--the version I have is by Brian McKnight. He's my future husband.

4. I can't stop myself from callin'
Callin' out your name
I can't stop myself from fallin'
Fallin' back again
__ ___ _______
Baby in the afternoon

5. ___ __ _______,
got broken hearts.
And if the world's at stage,
we're searching for our parts.

We'll face the winds,
and break the strongest of trees.
And beckon for the sweet, soft, summer breeze.

6. Oh yeah, yeah, why don't you, you _____ __ __ in all you do
And have the faith I, I have in you
Oh, and love will see us through
If only you _____ __ __
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Why don't you, you come to me when things go wrong
Cling to me and, whoa, and I'll be strong
We can get along, we can get along
Oh, if only you _____ __ __
Yeah, yeah

7. You've got your ball,
You've got your chain
Tied to me tight, tie me up again.
Who's got their claws
In you my friend?
Into your heart I'll beat again
Sweet like candy to my soul
Sweet you rock,
And sweet you roll
Lost for you, I'm so lost for you

My BFF Elaine was the first to guess this one correctly. It's Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band. But since her blog is privateish, I'll give the link love to the next person who guessed it correctly, Samantha K!

8. When they all come crashing down, midflight,
You know you're not ___ ____ ___.
When they're so alone they find a back door out of life.
You know you're not ___ ____ ___.

We're all grieving,
Lost and bleeding.

All our lives,
We've been waiting
For someone to call our leader.
All your lies,
I'm not believing.
Heaven shine a light down on me.

Cajunvegan guessed this one as The Only One by Evanescence.

9. It hasn't always been this way
I remember brighter days
Before the dark ones came
Stole my mind
Wrapped my soul in chains

Now I live among the dead
Fighting voices in my head
Hoping someone hears me crying in the night
And carries me away

___ __ ____ of the chains holding me
Is anybody out there hearing me?
___ __ ____

Morgan Leigh identified this as Set Me Free by Casting Crowns. Good job!

10. God I love the sweet _____ __ _____
Lingers on the tip of my tongue
Gotta love the sweet _____ __ _____
Blame it on the beat of the drum

11. I tried so hard, my dear, to show
that you're my every dream
Yet you're afraid each thing I do
Is just some evil scheme

A memory from your lonesome past
keeps us so far apart
Why can't I free your doubtful mind
and melt your ____, ____ heart?

Samantha K guessed this one correctly as Norah Jones' version of Cold, Cold Heart.

12. My _____ are small, I know
But, they're not yours they are my own
And I am never broken
Poverty stole your golden shoes
It didn't steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it wasn't ever after

Samantha Kguessed this one correctly as Hands by Jewel

13. yes I'm grounded
got my wings clipped
I'm surrounded
by all this pavement
guess I'll circle
while I'm waiting
for my fuse to dry

someday I'll fly,
someday I'll soar
someday I'll be so damn much more
'cuz I'm ______ ____ __ ____ gives me credit for

Samantha K--she's a guessing fool! guessed this one correctly. It's Bigger than My Body by John Mayer.

So...some of them are hard, but I tried to pick a few songs more than 3 people would have heard of. You'll get extra credit if you get the hard ones right. And again, by "extra credit", I mean absolutely nothing! --Well, I will include a link to your blog if you are the first to get a title and artist correct.

I will have to work on this when I have more than one brain cell awake and a little more caffiene in my system. I'm in California it's still morning, no making fun. I will be back and thanks for stopping by my TT.

Damn! I am looking forward to seeing the answers because I only recognize one of these songs. If I am not mistaken, #3 is "Crazy Love". Although the song has been done numerous times, the 2 versions that I know are by Van Morrison and Brian McKnight.

Please don't poke me in the eye! Please don't hunt me down & beat me! I don't know ANY, ANY, ANY of these! Seven did sound familiar, but I couldn't have told you it was DMB. (if that person's right)
Soooo, be kind, be merciful to me!
Have a great weekend!

Elaine--I ain't got no stinkin' candy! If I did, I would eat it myself. It's a sad story, really.

Sorry, I don't know any of those, but then music isn't really my thing. Great idea for a TT though.

Rats! The only two I knew (Hands and Crazy Love) someone else guessed. Should have got here earlier. This silly job is forever getting in the way of my blogging! (Thanks for visiting mine.)

I would like to officially blame my lameness on the malevolent cold infecting my brain.

But really I know I'm just plain lame; I could be looking at the words to "Star Spangled Banner" and still not recognize them until someone started singing.

Excellent idea, I must say.
