Doggy Cabana

Yesterday I set out trying to purchase items to turn my patio into a doggy cabana. An oasis, if you will. Apparently everyone in town is sold out of those hard plastic baby pools. The only ones I've found are the $28 ones which include a slide. As far as I know, the girls don't enjoy water slides.

I did find a big patio umbrella and am investigating misting systems, though. We'll see what I come up with.

This morning they had already started digging holes and it wasn't even hot yet. I might end up having to just buy the largest shallow storage container I can find and pretend it's a pool. It might be hard to find one big enough for Mercy though. We'll see.

Mercy gave me doggy body language that screamed "screw you" when I told her to go outside this morning, so she's kickin' it in the house. Butter still isn't bright enough not to run after food I throw out the back door, so she's outside by her lonesome. She's the fattest dog I've ever seen and she's probably less than a foot tall. Completely owned by food.

Anyway, I will attempt to continue my quest for swimming pools this weekend, I suppose.

I slept from 7:30 last night (I wasn't feeling well) to 7 this morning and I'm still sleepy. Maybe I have narcolepsy like Rusty...
