I wanted to title it Crab Porn, but I was told that my public might be offended. I doubt they really love eachother though, so the semantics are off. But hey, maybe they do love eachother. I'm not one to judge.
Speaking of love, I saw the most touching display of cow affection the other day. One cow had her neck stretched up as far as she could, and this other cow was "scratching" her neck for her with her head. It was a Kodak moment, but alas I was driving and didn't have my (broken) camera with me anyway. I guess some affectionate cow moments are meant to remain private. The crabs could take some lessons in decorum from them.
Some of you (OK, just one of you) asked the question lately: Do grasshoppers molt? I'm pleased to take this opportunity to share my research with you. The answer is yes!
(from the article linked above)
As nymphs continue to grow and develop, they periodically shed their skins in a process called molting. Eventually, wing pads become apparent. Body size and wing pads increase in size in each succeeding instar, the term for the developmental stages between molts. Alter a final molt, full-sized winged adults appear.
I'm molting too post-sunburn. I'm pretty sure there are office rumors floating around about me having leprosy, but I'm refuting them here and now.
