Jesse is wrong--I didn't come to see Kate because it would make me feel better. I came because without her, it's hard to remember who I am. -- page 138

I have not read any of Jodi's books. Sound interesting.

I LOVE that book. I can't wait for the movie to come out.

This is the only Picoult I have ever read. It took so much from me emotionally that I haven't recovered yet to try another - and that was about 3 years ago!

She writes good "make you think" books. I love them because I continue to think about them for months after I finish them.

This is one movie I might actually see. :)

you've been in a posting frenzy!
I really need to start reading more. Although right now I'm "studying" ... and that is reading. But not for the pure joy of it.

Someone should have counseled your mom -- just for your dads sake. Her refusal to get the recommended help, has been quite a burden on your dad.

Pamela...you have no idea. We all feel badly for my dad because he does EVERYTHING for her. Even when she hasn't just had surgery.

The doctor tried to convince her to spend some time at the rehab hospital after surgery so she could be looked after and have her therapy there, but she adamantly refused (she said the rehab hospital's schedule and her schedule aren't compatible??), so he ordered nurses and physical therapists to come to the house.

It's a very strange dynamic at my parents' house.
