Sometimes I have the mind of an inventor (in that way in which, I don't really invent anything, I just come up with vague ideas and wait for smarter people to put them into practice).
Last night, I was thinking about how there should be a drive through at Wal-Mart. If they can do self-check out lines, they can make this happen.
I should drive up to a touch screen and be able to touch the picture that says, "Aisle 4- Condiments, Peanut Butter, and Coffee" (why DO they put those things on the same aisle?). And then it should take me to a screen that gives me more categories like: salad dressings, sauces, tea, coffee, peanut butter. And I'll choose salad dressings, and there will be a big picture of Hidden Valley Ranch and I'll choose that.
Of course, there would have to be a 10 item limit or else it would take too long. And I haven't figured out how they would get the groceries to me. Would there be a conveyor belt, or would a human bring them to my car? Either way, it would be better than actually going into the store and falling over the plethora of unsupervised children that reside in Wal-Mart.
My other idea (and this is much more far-fetched) is being able to see other peoples' pasts in order to better understand the present version of that person. I think that would be very enlightening. It might also give us more compassion for one another. But it might be pretty embarrassing too.
Anyhoo, I'm done thinking for the day. Thanks for stopping by.

you nut.
I know some people have "on line" grocery shopping access. That appeals to me.
I like ordering stuff on line. Hate lines... even drive up.
Some blogs give us a written option of seeing peoples past. I'm sure that having a teletubby belly with our life history playing on it is somewhere in the future.
(I've already got the belly for it)
I remember several years ago a friend of mine was into Quixtar / Amway / PyramidSchemeOfYourChoice, and he was telling me all about "the future".
"In the future", he'd say, "we'll all have these small rooms on our houses for the grocery delivery people. So they can get in there and leave the goods but not get into your house... I promise you, we'll ALL be getting our food this way in 5 years."
That was 1994. I wonder how it's going with that Carribean island the guy at the top of the pyramid promised him... he was always just a few sales away...
