Random Catching Upness

I realize I've been a little lax on the blogging lately, but I do what I can.

I finally went back to PT this morning after having been off for about a week (had to reschedule an appointment due to my trip). Joints keep sliding around to places where they're not supposed to go (although I am feeling quite a bit better), so we're working on core strengthening stuff still. She said it's easier to help people who aren't flexible enough than it is to help people who are hyper-mobile. So it just takes time. I only thought she was going to kill me for a little while today.

I cannot wait until this weekend. I plan to be lazy like you wouldn't believe. I still have some sleep to catch up on. And some yard mowing to catch up on which does not compliment my plans of laziness at all.

I've been reading this book called Living Downstream about carcinogens in the environment. It's just crazy. I would say I want to go live in a plastic bubble, but plastics release cancer causing gases. It's a really heavy book, and it's not a quick read by any means (lots of statistics and scientific jargon), but it's fascinating. I've learned a lot about how cancer statistics are tracked (it's next to impossible to keep track of whether or not certain areas have a higher cancer incidence for a variety of reasons)and how that affects cancer research. Not that you care, but there you have it.

This weekend is Father's Day, isn't it? What are you getting your dad? Mine is so hard to buy for.

A few NYC pictures are up on my Myspace. I still have several that I need to upload to photobucket, but after I do, I'll e-mail some of you the link. Most of the pictures will be boring to you because there are lots of people pictures. I would really like to spend some time in NY just photographing churches/cathedrals. I have never seen such beautiful architecture. I'd like to do a black and white grouping.

These are from St. Mary the Virgin Church.

I would have loved to have taken more, but I think the fellas were getting grumpy from having walked around a lot and we were on the move while I was snapping them.

If my theology were based on architecture, I'd definitely be Catholic.

Oh--I keep forgetting to tell Kevin this, so it will be news to him.
We've been invited to spend a week at the beach with my family. I mean my WHOLE freakin' family. Including people who aren't even technically family and their obnoxious children little darlings. Fear not! I immediately declined. I cannot imagine a scenario that would be more of a living hell than the aforementioned "vacation". I cannot imagine what the people who are going on the trip are THINKING. Seriously. We can't all be around eachother for a weekend around Christmas without drama breaking out. Why the HECK would they stuff themselves into a house like a bunch of sardines for a week? I cannot imagine the amount of sedatives it would take to make that bearable.

I guess it depends on the family(s)

Your architecture shots were enough to get me to even consider having more faith (:

Aint it the truth! Even the small-town Catholic church I was brought up in had duel spires, beautiful stained-glass windows and amazing statuary...I just bet the ones in NY are phenomonal! (or Boston..wow)

Anyway, sounds like a pretty good trip, overall...glad your back & postin'.

Sounds like a great trip. I love looking at churches.

As someone who just spent a few days crammed into my mother's house, I can say you made the right call on the family vacation!

Regarding the family trip that you speak of? I just returned from a 5-night cruise with 11 of my "girl" family members. You are a smart woman.
