As if I Needed Another Irrational Fear

I was disturbed by this news story yesterday.

I've seen the random-collection-of-facts e-mail about how we swallow about 7 spiders a year while we sleep. I'm thinking about getting some kind of special mask to wear at night so that won't happen to me.

But now I have to worry about them setting up residence in my ears?! This is unreasonable. I guess it's a good thing I already have earplugs (due to Butter's early morning and middle of the night hissy fits). But I haven't had to wear them much lately (except when the obnoxious frat boy neighbors get out of hand). Maybe I'll start wearing them every night as a preventative measure.

Somebody get me a plastic bubble already.

In other Arachnid related news, I went to get my hair did on Saturday and the radio was on. This song started playing. Apparently anything goes in country music. Never would I have thought that it would be socially acceptable to write a song about wanting to check someone for ticks, but I was wrong. And in case you can't understand what he's saying, here are the lyrics. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. This is a new low.

LOL, Guess this isn't the time to say that I just LOVE that song. To me, throwing up is more repulsive, LOL!! That's what makes life fun ~ everyone having different tastes.

I'm with ya on the spider thing, though. Noooooooo thank you! :o)

once.. many years ago.. camping... the hubby got an ant in his ear.
It was quite a spectacle... him dancing around screaching.

Finally, I got him down to the river and dunked his head. That little guy did the dog paddle right out of his ear and into the water.

After I got home last night, I grabbed some tissue to blow my nose. I did a very thorough job, and right before I threw away the tissue I noticed something moving on it. Upon further examination, I realized it was a brown recluse. How I managed to blow my nose on it without it biting me I will never understand. But after reading this I'm halfway wondering if the thing came OUT of my nose.

Ah, this whole spider thing is very disturbing.

And, yes, I was introduced to that song this week, as well. Unbelievable.
