Gather 'round while I share an embarrassing moment with you.
Yesterday I was driving home from work. As I was winding through my neighborhood, there was this guy who was on the side of the road doing some sort of bicycle repair with something that appeared to be a socket wrench (yeah, like I really know what a socket wrench is, just pretend with me...). His head was down and he had a helmet on, so I couldn't see his face, but he was about the same build as my ex-boyfriend who lives in my neighborhood and also rides bikes (ridiculously long grueling rides, not tooling around the neighborhood). So what do I do? Being the friendly sort that I am, I slowed down the car, and honked my horn and waved.
In retrospect, I have no clue who the guy was. When he lifted his head to see who was honking at him (he was probably scared out of his wits), it was apparent that I've never seen him before. I sped off. I probably have some sort of neighborhood reputation as a terrorist of bicyclists now.
Here's some guy in the August heat, with a broken down bicycle, and a stranger comes along and honks at him and drives off...not offering any assistance whatsoever. Yeah, I'm a jerk.
