I don't even know where to start...

What a weekend.

The class reunion turned out about like I had expected it to. I did get to see some people that I hadn't seen since college graduation, so that was good. It was good to find out where people have landed and what they're doing now. There were others that I hadn't seen since high school graduation. It was nice to see some of them too, but it's hard to reconnect with people that you haven't seen or talked to in that many years...particularly people that you weren't necessarily close to in the first place.

There were several people that I really would have loved to see that didn't show up. I didn't go to the first night's meet and greet, so some of them might have gone to that and not gone to the thing on Saturday night. There were really only a few people at the Sat. night thing that I was friends with, but I knew that would be the case before I went. I'm really glad that those few showed up. It was really good to talk to them.

Anyway, it was pretty sedate. I figured more people would be dancing and/or ridiculously drunk, but I think the exorbitant prices on the beverages kept the drinking in check, for the most part.

I guess the one thing that really surprised me was the lack of structure. The invitation promised a trip down memory lane, and I really didn't take any trips down memory lane while I was there. I thought that meant that there would be maybe a picture slideshow or they'd show video clips from various school functions or something, but none of that happened. People just sat around and ate and stared at eachother. Eventually, a few people did dance, but most people just sat around and talked. Meh. I guess if I hadn't gone, I would have wondered what I missed, so now I know. Drunken Karaoke could have really improved things.

I'll add some pictures later.

The boy met the parents (and cousin and sister and her kids) this weekend. Somehow he survived all that. He's probably trying to think of the most delicate way to break up with me now. :)

In other news, I think my dogs have ticks. I'm hoping it's not a severe infestation. They both get baths tonight in flea/tick shampoo and the pest guy will get a call that he needs to spray the entire back yard if I find any on them. Ticks are just one step away from being spiders.

We made infused olive oil last night. I can't wait to see what it tastes like. It was a total experiment and could be a huge failure, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. We haven't tasted it yet because you're supposed to let it set for awhile to give it time to infuse. I'm making spaghetti tonight, though, and we'll try some with that.
