Onions bring nothing to the party.

I don't understand why people think they have to ruin perfectly good food with onions. The texture is awful, no matter what you do to them, the taste is just as bad, and you end up with stinky breath. My supposition is that people use them merely out of tradition. Just because Grandma put onions in her food doesn't mean you have to! Break the generational curse today!

Earlier I went downstairs to grab some food at our kiosk and the chef was standing there. None of the food-food looked like anything I was willing to risk, so I asked what the soup was. He said it was creamy tomato soup and asked if I wanted to taste it. So I did. And immediately I exclaimed, "This has onions in it, doesn't it?!" and he said, "Jennifer, everything I cook has onions in it." I told him that didn't make it right. I proselytized about the evils of onions, but I don't think he caught on. Anyway, he offered to dish it up as onion free as possible (which turned out to not be very onion free at all). Why not call it Tomato-Onion Soup? Why conceal the truth like that?

So I got back to my desk and dipped out all of the onions and tomatoes and was left with a few spoonfulls of soup. Glad I snagged a couple of packets of crackers to go with it.
