So today I went to church with Tim. I went to get in his truck and realized that apparently the people that built the freakin' thing were of the opinion that "bigger is better". The truck is huge. And tall. And I was wearing a skirt and heels. I put on quite a show getting in and out of it every time. Next time I'm wearing pants. Right now there are probably people saying, "If I've got to run the risk of getting flashed in the church parking lot, I'm never going to church again!"
We went to Fellowship, which wasn't bad. It was smaller than I expected, but I liked the atmosphere--very relaxed and free and there was lots of cultural diversity which is kind of hard to find in churches sometimes. You would think that churches wouldn't be segregated since God is all about loving everyone, but I guess church is one of the last frontiers for desegregation. Anyway, I liked it, but I'm not sure how they do small groups, so I'd like to know more about that and more about their beliefs. It's my first real venture into a non-Baptist congregation, so I'd like to examine the beliefs of the church and make sure they line up with what I believe. Next week, Tim is out of town, so I'll probably go back to Woodland Heights and maybe the next week we'll tackle Antioch.
Then I came home and mowed the front and back yard picked up some food and came inside to cool off, and then I'll be back outside weed eating and finishing the flower bed once and for all, hopefully. Sans wheelbarrow. It felt kind of weird going to an early service, but it's nice to have the whole day free, basically.
