Springform Pans are FUN!

I decided to try out my new Springform pan last night and make my first real cheesecake!

It turned out really well. It was a chocolate chip cheesecake from my new Nestle cookbook. I brought it to work this morning, and it just so happens that it's a guy on my row's birthday today so I told him it was in honor of his birthday. The only thing that bugged me about the pan was that the bottom crust stuck to the pan. I don't know if there's some trick to make that not happen, but if there is one and you know what it is, please let me know!

First day back to work after a week vacation, but it's not so bad. It's a bank holiday so it's quiet without the customers around.

Butter did so well last night. Maybe they beat her at the kennel or something to make her mind. I'm not complaining! She didn't even start yelping when I opened up her crate this morning. She just wagged her tail and came out and stretched. Maybe this is the new and improved Butter.

There's this song we sing at church sometimes which has some Hebrew in it. Today I finally googled the Hebrew part to see what it means. Baruch haba b'shem apparently means "Blessed is he who comes." I just thought I would share that with my viewing public.

Speaking of songs, I really like Kanye West's "Gold Digger" song. I think it's funny.

I don't so much like the Black Eyed Peas "My Humps" song. I really don't need to hear someone sing about their 'lovely lady lumps'. It's sad because I generally like their music, but when I hear this one I keep waiting to find out it was only a joke and wasn't a real song.

I'm thinking they will let us go home from work early today since our customers are out. If so, I'm gonna go home and work on my yard. It's so ghetto looking that I'm embarrassed. I'm sure my neighbors hate me. My primary problem with keeping the flower bed weeded is that spiders like to live in flower beds and I don't like spiders. If one got on me, I would probably come out of my clothes right there in the middle of my yard to get it off of me....and then my neighbors would hate me even more! There are the remains of what I can only imagine is a very large, deadly spider on my front porch. I'm scared to sweep it away. It might not really be dead, just sleeping. I don't want to be the one to wake that monster up!

My other problem with yard maintenance is that I think I broke my weed eater. The weed eater string keeps getting caught up in the little string holder and it won't spit more out when I bang it against the ground. It's like it's getting too hot and the string is kind of melting together. I don't know why it's happening because it's the same string I've been using.

Anyway, I want to weed eat and redo my flower bed....it's needs serious weeding and the dead bushes need to come out. Then I want to put new bushes in and some new flowers too. We'll see what I have time to do.

Wow....you're so ambitious about your yard. I leave all that for Jason. He actually enjoys yardwork.
