Poor Little Kevin

This is kind of an off the wall topic, but who cares. These are random musings, remember?

Does everyone remember the movie Home Alone? Did it bother anyone else that there were sequels to the movie? The whole premise of the movie is that little Kevin's parents accidentally left him home alone and went off on a long Christmas vacation without him. What kind of parents were these people? Who gets all the way to another country or state, or whatever without realizing that their child is missing? OK, so maybe you can do that once. But enough times for there to be a Home Alone 4? Why didn't anyone in the movies call CPS? You can only "accidentally" do something so many times before people catch on that you're doing it purposefully.

Don't get me wrong, I was a fan of the first movie. I was like 10 or something, but I was a fan. I even had a Home Alone computer game. It stressed me out though. In the game, you go around looking for common household objects to use as traps for the bad guys. I would always start to panic when the time limit ran out and the bad guys arrived. That was back before the days of a mouse, I think...wow I'm old! But I digress.

Other stuff. My dear dentist aka "Dr. Pain!" said I have some kind of weird something down at the root of one of my teeth. He's not sure what it is, so he's sending me to a specialist. He said it might be a cyst or something...whatever it is, it's pushing on a nerve because my whole jaw and into my ear hurts. This is the same tooth I spent $700 on earlier this year for a crown, so I hope they don't have to do anything really invasive--especially anything such that would cost me such a valuable tooth, not to mention more money (no major dental coverage). Anyway, 4 months ago when they did an x-ray the "mass" wasn't noticible...in this week's x-ray, it's pretty darn noticable! That's not too terribly encouraging.
