Am I the only one who is appalled at the price of cheese in restaurants? I'm not talking about buying a block of cheese to eat...I'm talking about asking for a slice of cheese on a turkey sandwich.
Usually the price is around .20. I'm a little bitter because all I ask for on a sandwich is turkey and cheese. No lettuce, no mayo, no nothing. Just turkey, cheese, and bread. One would think that with the money I'm saving them on "dressing" and condiments, they could give me a slice of cheese for free! Nonetheless, I can't eat it without the cheese, so I happily pay the .20 and get my eat on.
Yesterday I went to San Francisco Bread Company for the first time. Know how much they charge for a slice of cheese? Sixty (60) cents! I was in shock. It was good and everything, but it was just regular cheddar cheese, not super special gourmet cheese. Not a huge chunk of cheese. Just a regular sandwich sized slice of cheddar cheese.
Next time, I'm bringing my own cheese.
