We finished another race this morning. I think we've decided that we won't run another one for awhile. I would like to try to run the "Dashing Through the Lights" race in December, but for now I'm just looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday mornings for awhile.
I did walk a little of this race (maybe a few minutes, total) because I decided it was more important for me to be able to cross the finish line feeling like a human being than to have a super-duper time. They haven't posted our times yet, so I really don't even know how I did.
Speaking of times, here's something crappy:
I thought that I had broken my record at last week's race. I was feeling pretty good about it. Then I happened upon where I had written down my time for the 2006 race. I didn't beat my record at all. In fact, I was 2 seconds SLOWER than I was in 2006.

I didn't break any records today, but I survived. Really, my time wasn't too bad for the first two miles. I'm sure mile 3 was a little slower because by that point I was just trying to save up enough energy to sprint across the finish line.
There was a medical emergency, though. When Hayden crossed the finish line, there was a lady lying on the pavement. She had to dodge her. Hopefully it was nothing too serious. Kevin also reported that he saw a lady being supported by two other ladies. It might have been the same chick. It's a good thing that the race started and finished at the hospital.
Here's a picture of everyone stretching before the race. It should give you an idea of how many women participated.

WHAT in the world is that a picture of??? The "FAIL" one?
It's a picture of the outline of a bird that flew into a closed window.
ah. yeah, I can see that now.
What does that have to do with running a 5K. I think your wittyness has completely surpassed me.
Bookmarked!
Funny pic.
