There's Freedom in This

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

But it's never an easy lesson to learn.

That used to be my constant refrain. When I was going through my seperation/divorce and I got sick of people asking for details, I'd just say, "It is well with my soul".

That is beautiful--now I'm going to have to Google it to find out who said it.

It's from the hymn called It is Well With My Soul.
