Once You Go Blackle, You'll Never Go Backle

The fabulous Riley of All Rileyed Up blogged about this earlier this week. I had never heard of it before. Check it out.

I went to my optometrist today and learned that I'm a good candidate for Lasik (which he kept calling Lasix--more than a little disconcerting). That's good news. I'm at my wit's end with my contacts and I'm just ready to be done with them altogether. The bad news is that it's probably going to cost $4000.

That leads me to my next topic. My paypal account. I have one. You can donate money to it to help this girl with problemed eyes see again...or get $4000 worth of diuretics. But hopefully see again.

My husband's eyes are horrible and he was interested in getting this done as he'd heard good things about it and that the worse your vision the better a candidate you typically are. Up to a point. His eyes are at -10.5 and they said if they used a laser there wouldn't be enough of his eye left. His only option is this new technology where they insert new lenses or something. Still years away from something he'd try though.

-10.5 is rough! Mine are only
-4.50 and -4.25 and I can't make anything out without my glasses/contacts. I can't imagine -10.5. I think technology will catch up eventually. I'm just hoping I can find a clinic with a good payment plan!

I feel a bit bad, but I found out that Blackle is only power saving if you use a CRT monitor or your LCD is over 24". Sorry about that.

I have a CRT monitor, so it's still useful for me. Thanks!
