Work is So Laborious

Holidays make me lazy (lazier!). It's pretty sad that everyone around here was on the same page when we came into work today. Calendars were flipped open and we started looking for the next paid holiday.

Rosh Hoshanna was suggested (but none of us happen to be Jewish)...

Then Columbus Day was suggested (but none of us happen to be government employees)...

Looks like we're out of luck until about Thanksgiving.

Sucks to be us.

Arthur brought his babies up here and they sure are cute! They're tiny little squishy kids with lots of hair.

I went "home" this past weekend and held a certain other tiny squishy kid (with not so much hair). He's grown so much since the last time I saw him. I just held him and held him...and he stared at the ceiling the whole time. I think I saw his lips start to form the words, "I love you, please take me home with you!", but that might have been my imagination playing tricks on me.

I also went fishing. I caught 19ish fish, many of which were completely rude to me. I still have scratches all over my hands.

Here's something for you.

My parents got a new car just a month or so ago. It came with free XM radio for a certain period of time. Well, my parents usually don't really listen to the radio (I mean it. Any time we would take LONG road trips as a kid, the radio would never be turned on for a minute. Talk about making me want to gouge my brain out!). Anyway, we went on a little trip while I was down there to see my elderly aunt a couple of hours away. My dad was so excited to show me his XM radio. He was flipping through the million and two stations with glee. What did he land on? Escape. It was like being trapped in an elevator for a couple of hours. My mom said, "I like this Escape station because it's so calming." Maybe for her. I nearly jumped out of the car to my death a couple of times. I guess you could say that Escape made me want to escape. It should come with a warning label.

I never thought I see a day when you would go fishing more than me :P We should go together sometime!

I love to fish. I don't get to go as often as I would like, but it's one of my favorite things.
