More Petsmart Assery

Yesterday I bathed the dogs and took them to Petsmart to get their fingernails clipped. I take them to get "professionals" to cut their nails because their nails are black and I can't see when to stop clipping and because they HATE it and squirm around and fight me the whole time. It's just not a job for 1 person.

You might remember me venting about Petsmart's grooming department before.

So I brought the girls in one at a time to save me some heartache. Princess Butterball was first and as she pranced up to the reception desk, the lady asked me if I had her vaccination records. Seeing as how they've never asked me for vaccination records before, I told her no but that Butter had on her little rabies tag to show she had been vaccinated. She looked at me like I was an idiot and said that didn't count because people could switch out tags to dogs they didn't belong to and that didn't prove anything. OK...so someone who is too cheap/irresponsible to vaccinate their dogs is going to pay $8.66 for someone to do a mediocre job of clipping their dogs' nails. Whatever. She said she would have to muzzle her since I didn't bring her records in. Entertained by the idea of Butter chewing through a muzzle, I agreed to let her muzzle her. For a person who was so dead set on following the rules about muzzling, the chick sure couldn't work a muzzle. So she threw the muzzle down on the floor and said to Butter, "Well, if you bite me I guess I'll just die. Don't tell my manager I didn't muzzle you." She started clipping her nails, called for backup, and yelled at Butter every time she moved. Then she hacked into her nail too deep and Butter started yelping and bleeding like crazy.

Of course at that point, the lady started yelling at her and told her that's what she gets for squirming. This same thing happened the last time I took them in. I don't know why I keep going back.

After they stopped the bleeding, it was time to take Butter to the car and bring Mercy in. The lady didn't even try to muzzle Mercy which is funny because I'd figure Mercy to be more likely to bite an assy stranger than Butter.

That's not the half of it, but this is long and I'm the only one who cares anyway. :)

Jenny,
It doesn't look like it. :( I will get down there one of these days though. BTW, my mom said, "I got a picture of a little Chinese baby!" She's been talking about how cute he is. He looks like a little emperor. :)
