What a cool song...

I usually don't like Christian music too much because it tends to be kind of hokey and lame. Sorry. I realize that the message is good, but usually I just don't like the actual music.

But I like this one (Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns)

How many voices come rushing at us all day long? I mean besides the ones in my head. :)

Seriously though, stuff is thrown at us all day long. Some of it is so subtle that we don't even recognize it anymore. But it's good to remember that just because someone tells you something doesn't mean it's true. Better make sure it's true before you listen to it or believe it...particularly if it's a judgement on who you are or who you can be or what you can do.

It took me a long time to figure that out. Who I am isn't contingent on who you think I am. Who I am is contingent on who God says I am...and honestly, I'm in shock at who he says I am, particularly since none of my garbage is hidden from Him and He's still crazy about me. I would have given up on me a long time ago if I were Him.

17 The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Maybe that won't make any sense to anyone else, but it's my blog and I can ramble if I want to!
